Bernstein Family of Lawyers

Bernstein Family of Lawyers

A life in the law, helping people, and working hard for our clients is a Bernstein family tradition.

Three generations of Bernstein lawyers have demonstrated leadership in the legal, political and civic life of our community.

The first generation of Bernstein lawyers includes Mandell Bernstein and Estelle Koblin Nelson.  Both made extraordinary contributions to the legal community in their own unique ways.

The patriarch of the Bernstein family of lawyers, Mandell Bernstein, was born in 1899.  Mandell graduated from law school in 1922 and practiced law in Detroit.  He was a prominent lawyer and community leader.

The matriarch of the Bernstein family of lawyers, Estelle Koblin Nelson, was one of the first female attorneys in Michigan.  Estelle attended law school from 1933 to 1936.  She was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1936.

Sam Bernstein represents the second generation of the Bernstein family of lawyers.

After graduating from Wayne State University Law School in 1968, Sam continued the tradition established by his father, Mandell, and his mother-in-law, Estelle.

Today, his firm, The Law Offices of Samuel I. Bernstein, is widely recognized as a national leader in helping victims of car accidents and other serious personal injuries.

The third generation of Bernstein lawyers includes Mark, Richard and Beth Bernstein.  All three children currently practice law together at The Law Offices of Samuel I. Bernstein.
